will new health insurance cover me?

I am planning on visiting a gynecologist soon and was planning on paying cash when i was told the visit would cost 285 dollars. So today i decided to sign up for health insurance so i could pay less at the visit. If i go to the gynecologist on april 9th with the approved health insurance from Aetna will they cover me? I am not pregnant I just have a concern about my menstrual cycle.

1. If you aren't pregnant you might want to reschedule your appointment in 30 days or whenever it is your new insuraance is in force.
2. If the condition you are concerned about is considered pre-existing, there will not be any coverage.
3. If you don't disclose the menstrual problems on your application, they will likely deny coverage for a preexisting condition. If you do, they'll deny coverage for an undiagnosed preexisting condition. Ask the gyne office what the cash discount is. I'd bet it's a whole lot less than $285.
