URGENT HELP!!! Medical Insurance ...?

Hi, my husband got the "lay off" letter from his company and now we dont have Medical Insurance. I am 6 weeks PREGNANT and cant afford to be left without insurance and we cant pay for COBRA since it represents over 800.00 monthly. How can I get medical attention? We live in Florida (Miami) and dont have a clue about getting health insurance with pregnancy or service without insurance ... any suggenstions?

1. It's very simple, either you pay for COBRA now, or you pay ALL the medical and doctor and hospital bills later
2. Apply for medicaid. It sounds like your financial situation now would make you eligible now (I'm not sure if you work or what your salary is). It may be something you may feel bad about doing, but honestly your tax dollars have provided this service for so many other people. During this time of financial hardship in your family you should be able to take advantage of it as well. Medicaid should pay for all your doctors bills throughout your pregnancy and may continue for your child after he or she is born.
3. yeah, contact the local Dept. of Human Services...here in Texas, when our ladie's get preg. and cant afford insurance, we contact them and they put us on Govt. paid ins..called Medicaid...now, here the mother and child are on it only...after the child is born, the mother will be on it for so long then the child will be on it for as long as needed purty much..
