Scan Medical Insurance

I need help choosing a health insurance for my daughter.?

ok well i have a 2 year old daughter, and we have medi-cal health insurance for her which is pretty much at no cost since we are a low income family. But my job offers aetna health insurance at a resonable price, but with a co-pay fee of like $15, which i dont get charged with our medi-cal insurance. what are the differences between the services of these two insurences, are the services better or the same. And do you recommend me transfering my daughter to the aetna insurance. At the moment medi-cal covers doctor visits for free and alot of the prescriptions are also free with no co-pay charge, but i do want my daughter to get the best health attention even if it cost me money. I just want to know the differences between insurances and how they work.

  1. AETNA should have a chart with the services that would be covered as well as medi-cal. I would get both of these and do a side by side comparison to see which one would suit you better.
  2. I'm in sorta the same boat. altho the only med insurance I have is through the state(low income). altho there are differences in insurance companies to ne sure, they should be fairly close as benefits go. aetna where you'll have to pay a co-pay or ones like caresource, molina etc... look at each of your available companies, find out which suits your needs and go with it. maybe my opinion only, but just because iit's a freebie thru the state, doesn't make it any better or any worse than one you'd have to have a co-pay for. and this is after having major brain surgery 4 yrs ago paid for by the Hillburton Fund. ($159,000.00) w/o me paying a dime.
