Anyone have their wisdom tooth extraction covered by Metlife Dental Insurance?
I'm going in for a cleaning tomorrow and I'm sure they'll want to remove my wisdom teeth (I'll go for all four if I have to get them out). I'm estimating my costs at around $300.00 from what I've found online, but I want to be sure. I'm too anxious to be able to wait for the pre-treatment estimate! So has anyone had their wisdom teeth out using Metlife? If you used a different insurance, please explain your percentage of coverage, deductible, and benefit maximum if you tell me what you paid, so I can figure out what that would translate to for my benefits. How much did it cost? I guess my big fear is that my maximum is $1,500.00 so if the procedure is like $2,000.00 then I'm going to be paying like $500.00! :x I guess I can afford that, but it'd set me back.

- Okay, first it depends on where you live, if you login to your metlife account you should be able to pull up your package, and it should tell you what the max charge should be from your Dr. office. Then you'd need to know what % they pay of the treatment. Did you get a written estimate from the Dr. office for what they will be charging you? If you did then use that to calulate your copay. If you have a deductible then you need to subtract that from the total first then multiply that number times the % that metlife pays. That will give you the total that your Dr. office will get from the insurance company, (as long as it doesn;t go over the max.) The remaining amount is your out of pocket costs. I can't give you specifics because every area has different fees for the procedures
