Does Florida have a health insurance plan for people who are unemployed and/or uninsured?

I saw a brief segment on msnbc news about it but I couldn't find it on their website. Please let me know and provide any relevant links, thanks!

  1. I would try www.ehealthinsurance.com I have used them twice in the past while I was between jobs, but didn't want to pay for expensive COBRA insurance plans. It ran me about $100 per month, but the peace of mind was worth it! Check out their site!
  2. I'm not an expert on this, but I would suggest you take a tour here http://www.HealthInsuranceFreeTips.info/free-health-insurance.htm ,there are expert's tips over there
  3. The State of Florida does not offer an insurance plan for unemployed or uninsured people. If you are recently unemployed you should be able to take the Cobra option and continue your group coverage. You would have to pay the premiums if you choose this option. If you have any significant health conditions this would be the smart move. It is difficult to find a plan that will cover pre-existing conditions. The reason is that if you were able to purchase coverage to pay for an existing problem most people would then only choose to buy once they got sick. Sort of like buying car insurance after the accident. Florida did just enact a plan called Cover Florida. These plans are offered by a few insurance companies including BCBSFL. These are guaranteed issue plans. They will not cover a pre-existing condition for 1 year and are not benefit rich. They also cost more than if someone could qualify for a medically underwritten policy. This can get very confusing. We operate a BCBSFL Insurance Agency and are able to answer any questions that you may have. Please feel free to email me directly at gerard@berlindenys.com or call at 800-946-3303. 4. deva_lokii2, Health insurance can be very tricky. Since I'm from Georgia I'm not sure about Florida laws and regulations, so I suggest you call a local insurance agent. http://www.goodinternetdeals.com/Health-Insurance.html They will be able to assist you.
  5. health-quotes.isgreat.org - here is my health insurance plan. As I remember they can provide such a service.
