Buying Individual Health Insurance Florida?

I am having difficulty finding affordable health insurance here in Florida. Looking for a way to compare various plans.

  1. The best way to compare plans is to visit a local agent that works with all the major companies in your area. The agent can not only compare but can also explain what you get and, more importantly, what you don't get with the plans. There is no extra charge using an agent. You need to be careful when looking for the cheapest policy because with health insurance you get what you pay for. The cheaper plans will have reduced or limited benefits (the cheapest aren't even insurance) and it does you little good to get on a cheaper plan that doesn't cover what you want covered.
  2. There are several online websites such as http://www.humanatampa.com that allow you to quickly quote prices and compare coverage of various health insurance plans here in Florida. Use a site like this to quickly see what your health insurance options are.
  3. You can use various internet resources for that. This is just one of them: http://www.healthinsurance.medgrip.com/ You dint specify your age. If you are young and looking for individual plan you can possibly find something affordable. My situation is different – I’m looking for family plan in NJ and could find anything for less than $1200.
  4. I have met the similiar problem before -- still a little bit annoy, here http://www.healthinsurance-onlinetips.info/health-insurance-for-free.htm is a good resource that help me out.
  5. The best way to compare plans, is by going to talk to a local agent. With health insurance, you get what you pay for. Depending on your age/health, it costs what it costs, for the coverage you get. If you're 30 and healthy, a no /low deductible plan IS going to cost you $300 a month. That's just how it is. A local agent can explain coverages and help you balance premiums and deductibles to find something you can afford.
