Cinergy Health keeps harrassing my phone!!!?

Not really sure what category to put this under. Anyway, I went on their website after seeing a commercial on TV about their health insurance. I wanted to get a free quote so I filled out my name and number for them to call me. That was a big mistake. They started calling me 5 min after I submitted my info. I answered and they hung up. They called again 5 min later and same thing happened. I tried to call them back but was unable to speak to an actual human, just an automated service. Well now they call my phone every single day. Each call is spaced 10-15 minutes apart and it starts from 7 am to 10 pm. I seriously get about 40 missed calls a day from them and they don't even leave any voicemails. I talked to my cell phone provider and they said that I can not block a number. So what else can I do since I haven't been successfully in talking to somebody in the company to tell them to stop calling me? These calls are very annoying and I looked up the number on google and they do this to everybody. Look up the number yourself to see what I mean: 3057929996 I can't change my cell number either b/c it's my primary business number that I use. I wish I could change it! I havnt been answering the phone and they are still calling....this is going on about 3 weeks now. It's just messed up.

  1. Just don't answer when they call. Eventually they will stop. What you are experiencing is due to a thing called mass calling. One caller dials several numbers at once and talks to the first one that answers.. Take the lesson from this and do not give out your cellphone number to companies like that
  2. Sign up for the do not call list - you can do that online. Then, when they call you, you can report them. That's online too. You'll have to do some googling.
  3. send them a certified letter asking them to cease and desist calling your number.. make sure the letter has a signature required for pick up. and the letter has your phone number on it... if they call you even once after that contact the state attorney general if you do manage to get to a person when they call between now and then immediately ask for a supervisor.. tell them you consider them calling your number to be harassment and you want them to immediately cease and desist. --------------------------------------------------------- in the field of tricky words and key phrases.. any communications you have with them need to include that you consider it harassment.. (do not say it IS harassment just that you consider it harassment) and you want them to cease and desist. ------------------------------------------- susan since they were provided the number and left a call back request this doesn't fall in the realms of the do not call list.
  4. I know what you mean. I put my phone on the state and federal DNC lists (Do Not Call). I called GEICO or what I thought was GEICO for an auto quote back in July and they put me on hold. I got an automated message that asked me if I wanted to speak to an agent. I said "yes". Then the machine hung up on me. Since then I started getting calls every 30 minutes. And over the last 2 weeks I had been getting 12 calls a day from surveys, people trying to sell me a criminal justice program degree and a bunch of other nonsense. It turned out the GEICO agent sold my phone number as a lead to some lead vending company and they sold my number to 70 some other phone solicitors. When I got ahold of GEICO through their website, they put me through to someone after I threatened to turn them into the FTC. I'm still getting calls but not as bad. It takes a long time for them to get the word out.
