Where can a 50 year old couple find good affordable health insurance? ?

My father just lost his current job and has moved on to another company. The new company however doesn't offer health insurance. Does anyone know of a good affordable health plan people that age can get?

1. not if he cancelled his old insurance... that was a big mistake if he did. without current insurance, it is nearly impossible to get insurance. usually, you have about six months grace when leaving a job to pay for your current insurance until you can find another carrier. But if he let his insurance go, then he screwed himself and his chances of getting more insurance on his own.
