Whats the 80's movie where models gets scanned to be digital actresses - then get killed?

Something like "body double"? They get full body scans, then digitized. Doing a paper on avatars and want it as early background.

1. There is an old movie by that name (Body Double), but I only remember one scene in it (shower scene). I have no clue what it's about.
2. Are you thinking of the movie "Looker" starring Susan Dey? I remember enjoying watching her get scanned! Check it out at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Looker. The movie was made in 1981.
