Looking for Health care!?
Hello All. I'm self employed, and looking for optimal health insurance. So far, I'm torn between United Healthcare, and Blue Cross Blue Shield. I'm REALLY not sure WHAT to do?! Can Anyone help?! Anyone have any suggestions on what they consider to be good medical insurance.? Thanks!

- hmm, well being self employed, health insurance is going to be EXPENSIVE!!! If you can't afford health insurance, you should definatley check out Ameriplan USA. They are the #1 health and dental benefits company in the US, with over 140 million customers. You can expect to save up to 80% off your care. The cost of the plans are your choice, between $29.95-$59.95 a month for your entire household. Check out www.mybenefitsplus.com/lgraham Good luck to you!!!
- As a small business owner, I am a fan of high-deductible health plans to help control health care costs. In fact, I save almost $5000/year/person on premiums. My premiums are low and we take advantage of HSAs. I have great coverage through BlueCross Blue Shield with their large network and contracted rates. In an effort to make the most of my health care dollars since I now have to pay outofpocket until I satisfy my deductible, I created a search engine to help consumers look up health care prices to see what others paid for services. Feel free to check it out at OutofPocket.com. Good luck. Mona
- You definitely will want to stay away from AmeriPlan or any other discount or coupon card that is masquerading as true health insurance. If you have any doubts on the value of health discount cards then just do a Yahoo or Google search for "health discount card warning". You will want to choose a policy that has comprehensive major medical coverage that will protect you in the case of a large medical bill due to a broken bone, cancer, tests, surgery, etc. etc. If you are fairly healthy then you will want to choose an individual health insurance plan instead of a group health insurance plan because individual plans are much much cheaper. Also, since you are self employed then don't forget about the self employed health insurance tax deduction. Compare quotes from at least 3 different reputable companies like United Healthcare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Humana, etc. and you will find a good deal.
