Can I refuse to have a body scan going thru airport security?

I don't mind sniffer, metal detector or pat down. But I don't want to have a body scan. Too much of a violation of my privacy.

1. Because of the privacy issue, people are allowed to refuse this scan and opt for a traditional frisk. Also, the head is excluded from the scan and the images are instantly erased. The analyst is in a different room and can't see the person being scanned, but is in contact with other officials who can halt the scanned person if anything suspicious shows up on the scan.
2. No, i don't really think you can, it would be too suspicious and they would probably violate you more in asking this.

4. So, you're ok with being fondled by a stranger, just not being imaged in an unrecognizable way? Sounds to me like maybe you're trying to take something on board in a place they usually don't frisk. If you refuse the imaging, you don't get a "pat-down." You get SEARCHED or you don't fly.
5. You can refuse to be scanned, but then they will wonder why you've refused to be scanned, and will probably want to search your hand luggage. I've been scanned before, and seen the image generated. The image doesn't go into massive detail, and you can't see anything that could be considered pornographic or offensive. Although I'm a little confused... you'd rather have someone frisk you, then be quickly scanned and sent on your way?
6. you can, but then you get arrested. edit: sob.....you seem to be sobbing about this a lot (pardon the pun). but would you rather be seen naked for 10 seconds and walk away, or be frisked for a minute where they might FEEL you?? catch a train eh??
7. This is a good question, but I would think if you said something, then yes, I think you should be able to get frisked instead. I to, would rather be frisked. If they're going to see you naked, hell, they may as well just f#cking strip everyone of their clothes in a large room and make them wear indentical uniforms like prisoners at a penitentary do and make them board the plane dressed like that, while keeping their clothes and shoes in plastic ziplock bags they get back once the plane ride is over. With how ridiculous the current measures are, they may as well do that while they're at it...
