1. You can't really buy individual dental insurance, although some plans will offer it as a rider to a hospital/medical policy. It's usually a group item. You should either join a discount plan, or see what providers in your area offer their own plans. For example, American Dental in NY has a plan for $49 a year that covers basic stuff and discounts other work.
