Travel insurance?

What webb site can I go on to apply for travel/medical insurance when my son goes on a working hoilday to Austrail for the year.

1. I would check some of the insurance comparison websites. You can check the travel insurance offered by most companies and put in what you require. I have used them before to get annual insurance and found it really helpful to get what i want (annual travel insurance without cover for skiing and travel to America) at a really good price
2. Check on gocompare.com or confused.com they should bring a few up.
3. you should google for backpackers insurance, I just did to see what comes up and theres loads. Its important that he gets special backpackers insurance rather than just annual insurance because with annual insurance doesn't cover you if you're overseas for a certain amount of days at a time, I think its 45 days. If he's going to Australia and New Zealand don't forget the UK has a reciprocal agreement for medical care and in the EU he needs to get an E111 card, which also takes care of medical. Again google these to make sure you have the most up to date info. Something else thats really important is pre existing conditions, if he has any health problems at all please declare them! theres nothing worse than not being covered in an emergency. Also please bear in mind that usually you have to pay for any medical costs up front then claim them back so you might want to make sure he (or you) have some emergency funds as back up just in case. I'm sure he'll never need it but better to be prepared! Hope he has a great time
