Health Insurance covering the cost of braces?

I'm just wondering if there is anyone out there that has had health insurance cover their braces. My husband is major need of teeth repair, and he has broken through the upper lip on both side from different things. - - - he's dental insurance will cover 1/2 of it, i was just wondering in health insurance ever considered covering braces. He has two different dental plans, if health insurance doesn't cover it, could the other plan (through military) cover the other 1/2? thanks for any answers~

1. I had braces about 10 years ago and my insurance paid for most of it. At the time about 100 dollars a month. Braces are alot more nowadays
2. in my country the MOH insurance cover 100% of the cost... but u have to wait at least 2 years from the first visit of asking orthodontic treatment............. but in general, the overall cost of orthodontic treatment in my country don't exceeds 1800 dolar... i'm doing it in my clinic by 1200 dolar just for who needs help...
