Are you all voting for whomever supports Socialized/Government Health Care for the working class?
I am because I could not get health insurance of any kind as a child bearing female. When I tried to get it alone they wanted to give me a 2000 dollar deductible and have me pay 80 dollars twenty years ago. One major company I worked for took my health insurance payments but never start it up until I left the company so they would not have to give the payments back. Another continued to promise to start the program for me and let me make payments but after a long time I never got it so I left that low paying job I took because of health benefits they said I would get when I first got the job asap. I am now disabled and cannot afford to go back to work even if I get well enough to go back to work because I cannot afford medical care if I go back to work as I need it more since I got sick and injured in the military who did not give me disability. If welfare recipients who never work and have multiple felonies can have it then why not the voting population?

- Socialized medicine will hurt the working class and poor the most. The rich will always be able to get good health care. Socialized medicine has been an abject failure everywhere it's been tried. Even Canada's health care system is circling the drain (along with its patients). Here are a couple of links which show the truth about the quality (and quanitity) of medical care under a socialized system. - I support this issue, but I never vote for or (rarely against) a candidate based on one stand alone issue. The are many, many issues that person woulds have to take a stance on as an official. Their overall political philosophy is more important.
- I totally agree with Chelseafo..doctors and nurses should be forced to work for the government and for the wages the government is willing to pay. I don't think doctors should make more than a ditch digger, and we know nurses are nothing more than waitresses, so they shouldn't charge for their services either. We can look to Cuba and the Soviet Union (former) as our model in the USA. Afterall the Government never has cost overruns, or bloated bureaucracies. Never mind that NO ONE in this country goes without medical care right now ( it's called the EMERGENCY ROOM), it's just that the government can do a better job. Hooray for the government..and don't listen to those stupid Canadians who come here for jobs and their healthcare options, they don't know anything. I don't see anything wrong with a person waiting several months for a surgery..as long as the government official says they can wait. Remember the government official is an expert because he or she had an uncle that got them the government job. Hilliary is an expert too, she's got plenty of experience taking Bill to the Free Clinic for penicillin shots. floatpool (RN for 10 years) working with filipinos, canadians, brits, and even a few Americans here in Arizona
- Health care should be a right, not just a privilege for the very rich or very lucky. Our health care system is in shambles. The only people that don't gripe about it are people covered by an expensive health insurance. I have decent insurance but it makes me sick to think that people are being denied health care just because they can't afford it.
