My dental insurance denied coverage for a teeth guard - Do the cheap on line dental guards do the same job?

The dentist quote was 450$ My Dental insurance will pay 0. the jerks.....anyway. I found dentek on line. does anyone know if this 25$ product will protect my teeth? Thank you stressgard or dentek are the sites I have checked.

1. No they are no where near the same. Most insurances do not cover night guards, and the fee you mentioned is pretty standard See if your dr will work out a payment plan for you
2. I have a bite guard and had to pay for it. The cost is alot but if you don't lose it should last forever. The ones you buy in the store or get online will not protect like the one your dentist wants you to have. The soft ones actually harm as one tends to chew on them in your sleep. It is an investment in your dental health
3. it will protect your teeth, but it may not last as long as the material that the dentist would use. Also, if it is the kind you heat up and mold to your teeth, it won't fit the gum area well, so you can trim it with scissors.
