Does anyone know if dentists accept dental insurance as well dental discount plans?
I have dental insurance but I was thinking that if I bought a discount dental plan I can use the both and hopefully double my savings.

- why not just go to Family Services and get on medicaid and welfare and get it all for FREE?? Dentists have to make a living Lady!!!
- You can definitely call the dentist and ask them if they accept your plans, that's the best way to know if they will take what you have. Good luck!
- I believe they do. Call the dentist that you are going to and ask.
- if you pay say 50 dollars a month for a discount dental plan, will you really save? only if you stop the plan after you get your teeth repaired. another thing, most discount plans will not cover preexisting problems. i would just get what my insurance will allow each year until i get them all repaired.
- I sell discount dental plans (http://DiscountDental4u.net) for a living so I can tell you as a matter of fact that there is not a dentist in the world that will allow you to use your existing dental insurance on top of a discount plan? The reason is because no dentist is stupid enough to cut their rates twice which is what they would be doing if they accepted both insurance and a discount plan for the same procedure! However, it may be possible to use a discount plan to reduce your out-of-pocket expenses on those dental procedures that your existing insurance does not cover. For example, if you need to get a root canal but your dental insurance doesn't pay for root canals, you could then join a discount plan and have your dentist perform the root canal at a substantially reduced price.
- Some do and some don't. Good luck searching. Have you also thought of moving to Canada?
