Wisdom teeth removal, dental or health insurance?

I have Blue Cross Blue Shield for health insurance and Metlife for dental. I have one wisdom tooth thats grown in and three that haven't. I'm not sure if i have the three surgically remove, if that would be covered under my dental or health insurance. Does anyone know?

  1. my daughter just had hers out and they charged my medical (health), they were impacted. we don't have dental ins.
  2. Dental insurance doesn't cover everything.
  3. The claim for the extractions will be sent to Met Life first.. if the wisdom teeth are what's called 'boney impactions', then the claim can be sent to BC/BS for coordination of benefits... the 'boney impactions' are covered under your medical insurance.... Best of luck~
