i have dental insurance with metlife...???
my year limit is 1500.00 ...but i need two root canels and have many cavities will my insurance cover the cost....i went to dentist and they r charging me 1900.00 for all the procedures?? i dont understant why if i have insurance?? can u advise me?

- Ask them to request a pre-treatment estimate from MetLife. Then you'll know approximately how much you'll have to pay out-of-pocket. Just because your annual maximum is $1500 doesn't mean that MetLife will pay the first $1500... their payments are based on 'usual and customary' fees and will only pay a percentage on certain procedures... - I have no idea why they would charge an outrageous rate. It could be that the dentist performing the procedure is out of network. I have no idea what metlife insurance is like. My husband is a doctor and has excellent health and dental insurance, but I know if I saw a doctor out of network they would charge a but load. I would call your insurace to clarify what time of plan you have, like is it a 80/20 plan. Then ask your dentist to break everything down for you on paper.
