Health insurance blue cross denied me and I am sure all of them will. Help!?

When I was 17 I was diagnosed with a pituatary tumor affecting my prolactin its something that I will probably always be watched for especially when I want to have children. I just applied for blue cross and they denied me I am now 19 the reason why my insurance ended before was because my mom was under low income families and received blue cross trough healthy families a program. I got accepted for free medical last year but they discontinued it for this year I reaply and now I have a share of cost of 456 because I work now and I make more than 600 dollars a month. I make about 1,100 a month I only work part time. What can I do in my situation I need to be seen by a doctor but can not afford to put down 456 dollars a month each month I am seen, and all insurances are going to deny me. Please Help!!!!

  1. this may be extrem but move to the uk, free heathcare nd a hosue, we love welcoming non working paying people that then stab uk resedents:)
  2. I;m assuming your in the US, healthcare here is a b!tch isnt it???? have you asked about emergency medicaid? go to SS dept and tell them you HAVE to see the doctor, and you just cant afford the bills. the worst thing can happen is youll get denied :) My husband made good money in NYC when we lived there(1000 a week with tips) and he got emergency medicaid to pay his ER bills 3 times for kidney stones,, however the cost of living in NYC is very high compared to other places so I dont know if that had to do with it. we now live in SC and he makes 300 a week, I have prenatal medicaid. hopefully we'll get a president soon who understands the need for affordable medical care for all citizens.....
  3. Welcome to America! You don't have an emergency, so the ER is out. In some cities, there are free or low pay clinics. Check with social services, homeless shelters, or even a normal clinic or hospital to see if there is one where you live. If you live in a large city, there may be a local teaching hospital clinic with adjusted rates that could help you. The doc you were seeing when you had insurance might be willing to continue to see you at the rate he was being paid by the insurance. That was probably about 2/3 of his "list" price. All you can do is ask. Find out what the cost of a prolactin test and a doctor visit. Then start saving up, or maybe even start a layaway account with your clinic. Good luck.
