Does cigna dental insurance cover wisdom teeth extraction? I need to get all four of my wisdom teeth removed because there is not enough room for them. My dentist referred me to an oral surgeon. Will Cigna dental insurance cover it, and will they cover sedation for the procedure? I am also covered under cigna medical insurance. Since it is technically surgery, will my medical insurance cover the cost?

I need a bridge for 1 of my teeth.Should I do it under a DHMO or a PPO plan under CIGNA dental insurance? The DHMO plan has horrible dentists very far from me , but it costs only $800 vs a PPO plan which has great dentists close to me but it would cost $1,500 probably. What should I do? i cannot change to a PPO plan until next year. under my current DHMO plan I pay a copay of $255 3 times for a 3 part bridge vs a PPO plan where I have an yearly maximum of $1,500 and Cigna dental covers 50% of the bridge. A bridge costs $2,700 so they cover half of it. PPO gets my the dentist I like better, but it also wipes out my yearly maximum.

Will my orthodontic Lifetime Maximum start over with a new dental insurance provider? My daughter had a retainer and our insurance carrier, Cigna covered $1500 of it. dental insurance question? I belong to Cigna dental insurance. Could anyone explain why some peoples dental insurances cover all the costs for dental check ups, x rays, fillings, crowns etc. and other dental insurances only cover a portion of the bill and the patient has to pay the rest? I went to a dentist recently and I had to pay $188.00 for x rays and a teeth cleaning (first time visit). My insurance paid $97.00 of the total bill which was $285.00 which includes a $25.00 annual deductible. Why couldnt my insurance pay for the entire bill of $285.00, whereas some people dont have to pay a nickel for it?

I am very close to maxing out and I have a lot of dental work left to do and my insurance does not roll over until next October. So I the question is... I have gum desease and will need all my teeth taken out sometimes in the near future. I have cigna that I have paid their premium for the last 10 years and never used them ouce but they only pay a maximum of 1500.00 per year and I know that is only a fraction of what it will cost.-----Thank you for any answers.
Can a Dentist submit a claim to 2 Dental Insurances? Recently I canceled my Cigna plan and picked up Metlife, my dentist submitted a claim through Cigna, received payment and then submitted the same claim through Metlife, and received payment....I think Cigna paid because of the carry over and Metlife paid because that is my new plan. Now he is trying to charge me for what Metlife didn't pay....is that legal?

I need a lot of dental work done, probably in the thousands? I have several large cavities, broken and chipped teeth, and probably need a few roots canal. My insurance only covers about 1400 a year (cigna) what can I do? My bad teeth problem started with the military, using students to do dental work on soldiers for free, and thus shoddy quality.

Do anyone know of an alternative dental plan that I can add with my career provided plan? I was hit recently by a drunk driver in broad daylight and the driver had no insurance and my insurance company only paid for the vehicle. Do anyone know of an additional dental plan that will not conflict with Cigna Dental Plan? Also, one that is affordable too. I reside in Houston, TX now and will also need a dentist unless I travel back home to Chicago. Thanks in advance.
I was thinking about orking for sears but wanted to make sure they offer health insurance, is it good coverage? If they do have coverage, about how much does it cost for family, and what does it cover. Is it ppo/hmo/major company like cigna or aetna, etc. Is there a waiting period? Is there dental/vision?
Has anyone had Dr. Alison Zuccala as their orthodontist? Okay...So I'm 15 years old and I went to the dentist today and he says I have a bit of a malocclusion with some crowding issues and that based on his knowledge, I would be eligible for invisalign. My friend told me that she had Dr. Alison Zaccala as her orthodontist. First off, Does Dr. Zuccala carry invisalign/ invisalign teen. Secondly, What is your honest opinion of her? and Lastly, Do you know of the dental insurances she accepts? If you could let me know...Her office is in Depew and Orchard Park. Also, if you have any other suggestions as far as orthodontists that accept CIGNA dental and carry invisalign...LET ME KNOW! :) Thanks
Good Dentist Around Hurst, Euless or Bedford TX? Looking for a great dentist around the area that take Cigna Insurance. Also a added plus would be open late or on weekends, available for emergency calls, does a payment plan on dental work. If you know of any that you have personally been to please let me know!
Requesting for additional dental coverage? I have CIGNA PPO and an annual dental max limit of $1500 - yes, it sucks. I need to get (2) D2740, D6750 and D6240 but clearly it is WAY over the max amount allowed. Has anyone ever asked their HR to increase dental coverage and how did you do this? Or has anyone ever appealed their dental company after something like this was performed? It is major restorative, but the insurance and HR might consider it as cosmetic, but I hate the way my teeth look and it's really affecting the way I am. Any serious answers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Need a bit of help picking out dental coverage? I have had medicaid through Fidelis for about 4 years (NY state). I got married in May, and when my renewal came up, I listed my husband as well - knowing that I wouldn't be fully covered as I had in the past. They dropped me completely, as we make too much - giving me a whopping 3 weeks notice. So, at the moment, we have no health insurance at all. My husband's employer doesn't offer insurance, and he is currently searching for another job - hopefully one who provides benefits. I'm only part time, and can't change jobs right now (no vehicle), so I am not offered insurance either. My husband needs dental work done BAD. I have a few issues of my own, but his is far worse. The front right teeth in his upper row are literally falling apart. Years of constant soda consumption I feel have really contributed to this. Just in the past 2 weeks, he has had small pieces break off of two of them. I was looking online, and came across "Preferred Network Access by Cigna". Obviously, it won't fully cover anything he has done, but it would certainly save us quite a bit in the long run. There were several others listed, but Cigna's seemed to have the most reasonable terms out of what I checked out. For now, I am ONLY looking at dental, as to give us more time to shop around for full health insurance. Has anyone ever had this plan? If so, was it worth it? I would really like to find something quickly - he isn't in pain YET, but if it gets any worse at all, he will be. Thanks so much for any help! I just want to add - this is our first time looking for our own insurance, so pardon my ignorance please. I'm trying to learn as much as possible before I just go diving into something. =]
My daughter needs braces? If I have dental insurance on my daughter and so does my ex. Will both insurance companies pay the amounts? My BC/BS insurance pays 50% and his CIGNA also pays 50%. Can someone explain to me if they both can be used towards the cost of the braces?

for those of you that said $75 is cheap and asked if it was really insurance...? i am told it is a cigna plan...i have a $20 copay, all routine visits and followups are 100% covered...the deductible is $1000 but my understanding is that is only for non routine appts and procedures...the vision is a "plan" it covers $35 or exan and $250 for glasses contacts ect every other year...they said i pay out of pocket then will be reimbursed. dental has 100% coverage for routine and 80% for more complicated things and 50% for dentures... i am excited that i can afford it... i guess i didnt really ask a question yet...sorry...i will do better next time
Do you think my dentist was rude and would go back here? This is my Mom's root canal dentist, i had an emergency so she told me i should go here. I have a discount dental plan with Cigna through dentalplans.com,, it has them listed, i called and they confirmed it....... Ive used the plan for years with no problems.. I went to the office today, told the reception lady its not insurance but a discount plan,, she says "ok i know".. As im sitting i hear on speakerphone calling the company saying she checking about me and am i in the system-- the packed patient room was listening, so she tells me with a smirk im not in the system like im a scam artist. I told her thats not the correct company and i handed her a number to call, she called to verify me and looked angry.... She then told me with another smirk that I do not have a discount plan and the dentist prices are cheaper. I told her thats not correct since i have used it before.. I said I called yesterday to verify that you accept it and you said you do. Then she tells me, "you didnt even give me the verify # you hid it".. I said you told me you knew what the plan was so i thought you had the correct # to call... She then says again laughing its not a discount plan its a fee list I have, and i said at my last dentist visit I paid $15 for the inital visit with the discount, she starts laughing and says "you think we are going to take $15"? I said then why did you tell me you accept the plan"? No reply, I then said I'll talk to the dentist about this, you obviously do not know what it is. When I sat down , other patients told me they couldnt believe how she was speaking to me and i should call the plan to sort it out... I did and they told me to discuss it with the doctor... Doctor saw me, informed me i need re-treatment of root canal my tooth is infected... I mention does he accept the plan and how much will it be, he rolls his eyes and calls in the reception lady who was rude to me and says "she knows everything ask her"----- He heard our whole convo btw. I did ask the dental assistant about the plan, she gives me a look like I'm pathetic and says thats not a plan its a discount fee and we are only offering you $900 for the root canal cause we know your mother.. I called the plan, they had me on hold and was told they spoke with my dentist and just told them he accepts the discount plan, when he told me has no idea. What do you think about this? would you go back here? My mother says he does great work but I am feeling really disrespected As the dentist was sitting by me in the exam room, he lifted my hand and asked me if i bite my nails?
Cigna Dental/Vision Insurance? ok, my husband and I got a dental & vision through his employer(pizza hut) with Cigna and we pay almost $60 a month and we don't really understand how all of this works. The papers we got say its a $25 deductible per person, per policy year. Does that mean its like a co=payment that we have to pay when we go to our appointment? And then it lists the services and how much they pay for each. Like $17 for a oral exam every 6 months. we found a dentist in the network. so basically how does all this work and what does it mean when we go to the dentist and eye doctor? please anyone help that has been thru this before. and is there any other plans or companies that offer something better? am i getting a good deal. thank you for your time.
How does dental insurance work? I currently have Cigna's dental insurance and I went to the dentist a couple weeks ago and got diagnosed with Periodontal disease. the treatment is almost 700 with insurance and I was wondering would it be ok to try and find a dentist that is cheaper in this? I am getting some work done at this dentist already such as fillings and I already got a tooth pulled. I just don't want to, if I don't have to, pay 700 out of pocket! Would it be ok to try to find a periodontist that offers cheaper services?
How much does dental work cost (w/o insurance)? I've been going to the same dentist forever and have been using my parent's insurance. I just switched and now have my own insurance - CIGNA. My dentist is not in my network and I would have to pay 50% of all costs every time I go in for a visit. Does anyone know what it costs for dental work on average? Including cleanings, fillings (i get a lot of cavities), occasional xrays?
How do I receive medical and dental care with insurance but no credit? Recently my wife and I have stabilized our finances by entering a debt management plan. This effectively "froze" all of my credit cards not even leaving me my emergency card which I had paid about $3,000 down on. They aren't technically canceled but I am unable to charge anything to them until completion of my debt management plan. My wife and I both have medical, dental, and vision insurance but no credit. How do I receive health care since they bill you the full amount minus the co-pay immediately? I have a broken tooth that I know is about to give me a one way ticket to immobilizing pain but we still live paycheck to paycheck with about $100 going into savings per month. There is also my diabetes which is going untreated and my wife has cavities that need to be filled. Is there a medical deferment or payment plan possible? I really have no idea what to do and I am getting very limited information searching on google. We have Cigna for health insurance and Advantage Dental.
How much does it cost to have wisdom teeth removed with CIGNA? I have both dental and medical insurance from CIGNA and the only in-network oral surgeon within 100 miles requires the entire co-payment paid on the day of the surgery. I know that every removal surgery is different but I need a price range for what I am going to pay. I also need to know if the medical part of my insurance will pay something because it is technically a surgery. Please post only serious responses. Any insight will be helpful, I just need to know how big a chunk I will have to pay.
It's going to cost too much to have my dentist put in a bridge , can I have a dentist do it in Europe? I have Cigna dental and it looks like I have to get a bridge done which costs $600 after insurance coverage plus another $500 of LAB FEES! My question is this...I travel every year to Europe and a family member works in government and they use a great dentist. They would charge me only $400. I figure since I will be travelling there anyway, why not have them do the bridge work? Positives vs Negatives?
Which dental insurance would you choose from this list and why? What would you pick? What do you think would be best for me? I am 18 Have medi-cal dental insurance Need cosmetic procedures done. Fillings and all porcelain crowns(teeth chipped had root canal). I am probably going to pay for the two that chipped out of pocket because i need it asap. But one of my molars just broke so I need medical insurance because I can't pay for all three procedures. Plus I am a full time college student. Health plans accepted include: * Aetna DPPO * Ameritas PPO * Cigna Dental PPO * Delta Dental PPO * Dental PPO * DentalGuard Preferred * Dental PPO * MetLife PDP * Advantage Plus PPO * Dental PPO If you have any other suggestions that would be great!
