metlife dental? does metlife dental insurance cover braces??if yes...how many percent of the estimate do they cover?
My dentist says I owe them money because my Metlife dental insurance is refusing to pay. Is this right? HELP? Last year in May of 2010, I was given an estimate for my Invisalign which stated that my Insurance Metlife Dental would pay $2000 and all I had to pay was $1000 out of pocket. So I agreed and got the Invisalign. Metlife approved it but did not pay the full amount, instead they started making monthly payments. In January 2011 we changed dental insurance to a different company and now Metlife has decided to stop making payments on this expense. Therefore, the dentist is saying I have to pay for it. I dont think this is right. If someone agrees to make a payment on a debt, you cant just not pay it anymore just because the customer decided to go to a different company. And I really think that the dentist should hold the insurance responsible for this debt, not me. Afterall, they did give me a price of what I was going to pay which I paid. I even had them call the insurance directly and get approved just to make sure that I wouldnt end up paying more. I have heard lots of horrible stories about Metlife and their customer service. I do not know what to do? What should I do and how can I fight this?
Anyone have their wisdom tooth extraction covered by Metlife Dental Insurance? I'm going in for a cleaning tomorrow and I'm sure they'll want to remove my wisdom teeth (I'll go for all four if I have to get them out). I'm estimating my costs at around $300.00 from what I've found online, but I want to be sure. I'm too anxious to be able to wait for the pre-treatment estimate! So has anyone had their wisdom teeth out using Metlife? If you used a different insurance, please explain your percentage of coverage, deductible, and benefit maximum if you tell me what you paid, so I can figure out what that would translate to for my benefits. How much did it cost? I guess my big fear is that my maximum is $1,500.00 so if the procedure is like $2,000.00 then I'm going to be paying like $500.00! :x I guess I can afford that, but it'd set me back.
MetLife Dental Insurance...? Does anyone know how this insurance actually works? I got this insurance through my employer (haven't had insurance in a LONG time!!), and from what I'm reading...it sounds like you have to pay for services up front, and then they reimburse you?? Is this how it works, or am I mistaken? I'm so confused, and really want to go get a general cleaning and exam....but don't have the money to pay for it when I go!
Besides Metlife, does anyone know another insurance that partly covers dental implants? Looking for an insurance company that covers dental implants besides Metlife. Unfortantely, they don't cover my state. I already know that most plans don't cover dental insurance but there are some plans that cover some like Metlife, thus I'm looking for those other companies names. Also, in the state I live there are only three dental schools and they cost as much money as going to a clinic where I'm not treated like a dental science project. I don't need to hear about going to other countries to get dental implants work done - I don't even have a passport and rather not go to a third world country where I don't know the language to get horrible dental work done. I'm not trying to be mean --- I just want to be straight forward in what I'm asking; names of other insurance companies that covers or partly covers dental implants. Thank You
i have dental insurance with metlife...??? my year limit is 1500.00 ...but i need two root canels and have many cavities will my insurance cover the cost....i went to dentist and they r charging me 1900.00 for all the procedures?? i dont understant why if i have insurance?? can u advise me?
Dental insurance providers with orthodontist coverage? I currently have MetLife Dental which does not inlcude orthodontist coverage. I went to an orthodonitst and was advised to get invisalign to keep my teeth from gapping. Two years ago, I had molding applied to my two front teeth to close the gap and it worked and was wonderful. However, my teeth are gapping apart again. The orthodontist stated that Invisalign is the best alternative to permanently close and stop the gapping because my teeth are very straight and do not have an overbite. Is there any insurance provider who offers orthodonist coverage to adults or do you know of any discounts available?
Dental Insurance in chicago? I am 27, had some dental problems last year with tooth extraction(gum infected), but overall decent teeth. My company has a Dental Plan which is 100% employee paid about is $41/Month (Metlife Dental Insurance) Are there any cheaper ones available online. Thanks.
Can I have 2 dental insurance with the same insurance provider? Hi, I'm currently under my wife's dental insurance plan since her company pays 100%. I went to the dentist last week and my doctor told me that I have to replace my super old crowns and the total cost will be approximately $3,800. So I have to pay almost $2,000 out of my own pocket since my insurance will only pay the first $2,000. However, my co-worker told me that if I have another dental insurance policy through my own company then my extra insurance will cover the rest of the cost. Both my wife's company and my company have Metlife dental insurance plan. Has anyone tried such thing? Or is there some sort of restriction to do such thing depending on the companies? Thanks in advance.
Wisdom teeth removal, dental or health insurance? I have Blue Cross Blue Shield for health insurance and Metlife for dental. I have one wisdom tooth thats grown in and three that haven't. I'm not sure if i have the three surgically remove, if that would be covered under my dental or health insurance. Does anyone know?
which is the best dental insurance? how do i purchace individual dental insurance and which provider is the best. i have Metlife dental through my job and i thought that i was fully covered only to find out that i have a 1000 dollar limit every year, which is like absolute nonesense, just a visit to the dentist with no work done takes about 250 dollars. i need to have a root canal and a crown and its goin to cost around 4500. please help i live in houston, texas if that helps
Individual PPO Dental Insurance with No Waiting Period? Does anyone know any individual dental insurance with a PPO plan and has NO waiting period? I live in the state of California. I've already tried Blue Shield and they have a 6-12 month waiting period for the PPO plan. And I've already try tons of other dental insurance (Metlife, Safeguard, etc) and they all have HMO plans or doesn't provide individual dental insurnace. http://politics-government.cn/health-insurance.html http://politics-government.cn/health-insurance.html http://politics-government.cn/health-insurance.html
Which Dental Insurance should I get? I live in New Jersey and my options are either Cigna, Metlife or Delta. Which Dental insurance should I get from these two option? Pros and cons would be great.
Affordable dental insurance for my two year old? I am trying to find a good dental insurance online for my son. I have came across a company called careington, but heard their discounts are never to be seen after you get things done. Does Metlife cover children? Anything helps! I'm trying to find something that isn't tricare related, he has regular tricare insurance, but takes forever for paperwork to go through, needing somethign fast and cheap...thanks.
Anyone have MetLife insurance....? I've finally recieved my paperwork for getting dental insurance through my hubby's work plan.. I'm not sure how this is suppose to go but this doesn't sound right to me... The papers state that AFTER I've begin paying the $36 bi-weekly rate, I will have a 6 month wait before I can have any procedures done at all... 12 month wait for cavity fillings..there is a $1000 max coverage they pay. I had done some research & their websites states they pay 80%, nothing was mentions about not being able to use automatically. Does Insurance really have a 6 month+ waiting period??? This just seems insane to me & a total rip off. If you have Metlife &/or can explain how this insurance is going to save me money, I'd really like to hear from you.
Can Medical cover some of dental work or is it too late? I currently have Metlife dental insurance and I have already had work done on my teeth. Metlife paid for a portion of the work done but still I had to apply in order to open a credit account with Chase Health Advance to cover what was left over and I still pay out of pocket more than I can afford at the moment =(. I'm going to college and working a bit in order to try to pay for the monthly bill but it's tough. I was wondering if I were to apply for Medical would it cover some if not all of what I have to pay??
Dental Insurance Recommendations? Does anyone have any recommendations for dental insurance, preferably a reliable company? I've tried looking it up online and a lot of them are dental plans and not dental insurance. Either that or I can't get through the line because they are always "busy assisting other customers." I've tried Metlife but they aren't currently providing dental insurance. They refered me to Safeguard but is that reliable? I'm looking for insurance that cover major procedures such as scaling and root planning and gum surgery. I'm living in California, personal experience will be appreciated. Yes, Safeguard is a part of Metlife. But when I called Metlife to ask if I can get Safeguard dental insurance through Metlife or Safeguard itself, they said I can't. Don't know what they are talking about. Apparently, Metlife have a customer line for dental but they don't provide dental insurance, makes no sense.
Question about dental insurance? It's almost the end of the year and I need to get four wisdom tooth pull before I get braces. I have Metlife. I get a maximum of 1500 dollars every year. I've only used 25 dollars thus far. But I wanted to know if I can use the remainder of my insurance to get these teeth pull. They only pay 80 percent but I want to use it all. The total cost is 1710 dollars. I would call Metlife but they're close on the weekend and my appointment is Monday mourning.
Dental insurance question on coverage? My insurance says that it will cover crowns at 50%. It has a frequency limitation of 1 in 84 months. My question is is this this total amount or is this per numbered tooth? I have Metlife PDP. Thanks in advance!
Aetna or Metlife dental....? Which insurance do you think is better ... just got married, and are filling out my husbands job insurance paperwork. Aetna and Metlife.... which do you think is better...? which covers most, I got a lot of things that need to be done, like my wisdom tooth ... all need to be taken out and may need braces? which insurance would cover the most? would be better for us ?
How much would it cost for porcelain veneers done on your visible teeth on average? I'd like to get Veneers done for my fiancee before our wedding and would like to get her visible smiling teeth done as a surprise. I have no idea how much it would cost (though I expect it to be high). Does anyone know what the cost would be? I am out in PA. I also have dental insurance through metlife but not sure if it would extend to veneers or not.
Care credit/dental work? Hello! I'm going to need to have all 4 of my impacted wisdom teeth taken out within the next month or so. I have basic dental insurance with MetLife through my employer, but they do not cover any part of the wisdom teeth extraction procedure. None of the oral surgeons in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area will allow me to make payments, but they will let me use care credit. I have heard many mixed reviews on Care Credit. Several people say that they were slammed with unknown fees, late fees (even when they weren't late), they weren't allowed to make a payment bigger than the minimum, and other horror stories. My question is...do you have any suggestions for me? I don't have the cash to just hand out to the surgeon upfront. Could you please tell me about your experience (good or bad, please!) with Care Credit. Thank you all so much!
metlife dental insuarnce question? Hello!!! I have a question based on Met life insurance my question is " How much will met life cover braces like $4,000 top and bottom that's what my dentist told me. SafeGuard HMO vs MetLife Max Plus? I am currently regarded as a dependent under my dad's dental insurance (SafeGuard HMO). I visited the dentist yesterday and I need treatment totaling out to $2700. I'm thinking I should get a second opinion under a different insuarance. Would it be cheaper if I moved to my own employer's insurance (MetLife Max Plus)? Does anyone know if this is a good insurance company? Will I be paying less?? I've had bad experiences in the past with dental offices charging me A LOT. I've learned my lesson, and now I'm weary about any work that is "required" to be done on my teeth.
Can a Dentist submit a claim to 2 Dental Insurances? Recently I canceled my Cigna plan and picked up Metlife, my dentist submitted a claim through Cigna, received payment and then submitted the same claim through Metlife, and received payment....I think Cigna paid because of the carry over and Metlife paid because that is my new plan. Now he is trying to charge me for what Metlife didn't pay....is that legal?
metlife.com/dental? Hi, my daughter will be getting her braces off next month. She has very small teeth , one a peg lateral and much space inbetween. I am looking for an in house dentist that my insurance will recognize that will provide bonding services to her. thank you, Annette
extraction or root canal? I was seen by a dentist who thought my cavity was going to be a simple filling but ended up being bigger then he expected. So he recommended a root canal...only problem was that the company I worked for went under and I am unemployed. Fortunately I have MetLIFE dental insurance through my wifes employer but we are on a very tight budget. Do I have to pay for the root canal in full? Even half may be difficult to pay up front because of our mortgage and after school child care fees. Should I have it extracted? I don't want to as it is one of my molars but at the same time I would like to get back to some normalcy. in pain) Honolulu, HI
Need help understanding dental bill? I went to the dentist for the first time in about 4 or 5 years and got a whole lot of bad news (as expected for so long). 1) Very back molar, bottom, my right. This one has a big cavity. The x-ray did not show it hitting the root, but close. They said they might be able to do just a filling, but they want to do a root canal anyways because the decay migth go further than shown on the x-ray. Is that resonable? Or should I try for just a filling and hope its okay? With the root canal they would also have to do a crown. 2) Obviously, I need my teeth cleaned. 3) In addition to that bad cavity I have 4 other ones plus one old one that is broken and needs fixed. These ones are not too bad. All of them are on back teeth and are located inbetween teeth (they only could see them on x-ray not visualy). In total they want $2808 and that's after insurance. My insurance pays 100% of the cleaning without a deductable so that does not need to be considered at all. Fillings are covered at 75%, root canal is 75%, crown is 0%. Deductable is $50 and max payout is $500. Does $2808 sound resonable?!? From what I can find online a root canal + crown should be $2000 without any insurance at all and fillings would be $200 each again without any insurance at all. I thought insurance is supose to get you decreased rates, plus they'll pay up to $500? I live in Massachusetts by the way, so expensive area. My insurance company is MetLife. Since it is the end of the year I can up my dental insurance for next year to cover 80% of fillings, 80% of root canal, and 60% of crowns. Same $50 deductable and a $1500 max payout. Can someone help me figure out how much it would be with the better coverage? The $2808 is my out of pocket cost, not the bill before insurance benefits. I'm in no pain at all, that tooth is sensitive to hot/cold and also when i floss, but just sitting here doing nothing I don't feel anything at all. They did a test with some kind of cooling chemical on a cotton swab. They put it on a healthy tooth and I felt the cooldness for a couple seconds. On the bad tooth I felt it for several seconds. The other tooth isn't cracked, the filling is, so it just needs the filling repaired.
Maxed out on my primary Dental insuance? Hello, Maxed out on my primary Dental insuance with Metlife for the calender year 2008. I have to go in for teeth extraction immediately...is there secondary insurance which I can get with just monthly commitment? How do the dicounted dental plans work?
Moving out of state with Invisalign? Here's the scenario, I want to get invisalign because right now I have a full time job so I have Metlife Dental that will cover 60% So if I were to get Invisalign now and move to another state (from WI to CO) in four months, would the orthodontist just transfer my info/aligners to another orthodontist in Colorado? Also when I move, I won't have dental insurance anymore and will I need to pay more fees? If I have to, do you know how much? Help?
Health Insurance payment plans? i have a question...ok so my boyfriend uses MetLife for dental care(because he cant afford real insurance), in which he only pays 11$ per month, and gets major discounts on almost everything. i was wondering if there is anything like that for health care. Right now I have bc/bs, but i have these awful copays, especially for obgyn office (50$). the visit is often more than the medicine. im 21 and I live in florida. i mostly need it for family doctor visits (strep throat, etc) and obgyn if you need more information let me know.
How DMO dental plan works? I have two dental plans. The primary is metlife PDP, the second one is Aetna DMO. Recently I did an onlay and my dentist is in both networks. The dental office filed a claim to metlife who will pay 50%. While waiting for the EOB from the primary one, I called Aetna to confirm how to file the second claim for the remaing balance. I was told that Aetna pays the dentist monthly fee under DMO plan no matter if we have service or not. But if we do have service, Aetna won't pay any additional fee. Therefore, the dentist or I won't get any payment for this service. This is so confusing. I then called Aetna again and talked to another agent. The answer was totally different. They are saying that they will coordinate with my primary insurance and send a check within their benefit allowance. Which answer is correct? Anyone here familiar with how DMO works? Thanks!
Which disability insurance policy should I choose? If I decline benefits at work, I can get an additional $2 per hour, which works out to be $4,080 per year. I've already switched to my wife's plan for health, dental, & vision coverage, which is less than half of what I pay for individual coverage with my current company. I also was able to get a life insurance policy at a competitive rate. My issue is with disability insurance. I have a history of sleep apnea which is now so mild that my doctor says that treatment is not needed. Metlife has quoted me a policy for 5 year term of disability coverage for $97 per month with no exclusions. Mutual of Omaha has given me a quote of $106.87 for disability coverage until I turn 67, but they are exlcuding any disability due to or related to sleep apnea. Which disability coverage policy should I chose, or should I just stay with my employers plan and not worry about the extra $4,080 I would get by declining benefits with them? Thanks for the replies! The policies have a 90 day exclusion period then are in force for 5 years with a qualifying disability for Metlife and till age 67 for Mutual of Omaha, which has the sleep apnea exclusion. The monthly benefit is $3600. Thanks again for the replies. Do you think the limited benefit period of 5 years is a problem or is the chance of me having a catastrophic illness or injury very remote? My employer's short and long-term disability group policy would provide coverage until age 65 if I were to become permanently disabled (60% of pay) and there are no pre-existing condition exclusions. However, as I mentioned before, I would forfeit the extra $4,080 per year by keeping the policy. What are your thoughts? Yes, these are offers. Yes, I did go through two different agents initially. The insurance broker with the Metlife agent has given me all the pluses and minuses of my three choices and is leaving the decision up to me. I'm definitely leaning towards the metlife policy.
how much for oral surgery? I have a tooth that can not be pulled at dental office(went there and they refer me to oral surgeon because it's too small and hard to get). i have MetLife insurance and the max is only $1000. Can anyone tell me how much will it cost for an oral surgeon to get it out?
not sure how much i should contribute to flex spending account? this is my first time doing it and i need a lot of dental work done. right now i need root canal and crown on front tooth and bottom front tooth. i need wisdom teeth taken out. i dont want to conribute so much that it affects my bills or other emergency items(car breaks down). right now i have rent, car note, insurance, student loans, cell, cable, water, electric, etc. right now i have metlife insurance- they cover $1500 per calendar year. im thinking about contributing anywhere from $1000 to $2000. what do you think??
Is my wisdom tooth infected or just growing in more? I need to get my wisdom teeth removed (3 of them). I've known this for probably about 6 months or so. Two are impacted, only one bothers me (upper-left side). It's been bothering me since I found out my wisdom tooth were the problem about 6 months ago. Not consistently though, but it'll come, pain will last for about 1.5 - 2 weeks and then go away and come back again 3-4 weeks later. This cycle has been going on all this time. I didn't have the money before to get it removed, even with my insurance, but I got married, canceled my medical benefits, quit my job, then moved across the country. Now I'm under my Metlife dental COBRA (which doesn't cover oral surgery), Tri-Care standard medical (also doesn't cover oral surgery) and Tri-Care dental (DOES cover oral surgery, but doesn't go into effect until August 1st, so I have to wait some time). Anyway, whenever one of these pain cycles hits, they're always pretty painful, achy, and I'm barely able to open my mouth at all. This is the worst one of all though, on a scale of 1-10, I'd say the pain was at a 9 or 10. It's basically unbearable, my gums are constantly throbbing (not abnormal for these cycles), but the only difference this time is, besides the pain being even worse than usual, you can actually see some of the swelling from my cheek. It's puffed out a little bit, so you know it's bad. I just want to know if it's infected, or just going through one of it's spurts. I have no fever at all, just a slight headache, horrible pain, and swelling.
Which one is better ?!? I which Health plan do you guys thinks will cover most of any dental services ?!?! I know it all depends on the doctor , on the services, etc etc etc ! But which one of these is the best health insurance : 1- Aetna ? 2 - Altus ? 3 - Assurant ? 4 - Delta ? 5 - BCBS ? 6 - MassHealth 7 - Commonwealth 8 - Metlife 9 - Guardian 10 - Unicare 11 - United Healthcare Which one do yall think ????? Thanks a lot ;)
I pay $4000 a year for Hillary's health insurance plan. Is that too much? I have the great health insurance of the Federal Government, BCBS, with Metlife Dental and I pay $4000 a year or $333 per month. That is a joint plan for my wife and I BCBS. If you don't believe me, go to the sites for the FEHB health insurance. I have to buy my vision and dental separate in the government where I work. This is a total payment! 2.5karat...that is a flat out lie! Obama wants to make sure all kids are covered! If your have insurance for the kids, you don't have to buy some! Lady Snow? Congress equals the House of Representatives and the Senate. So Hillary, Barack and McCaine are all Senators or Congress people. You are welcome!
not sure how much i should contribute to flex spending account? this is my first time doing it and i need a lot of dental work done. right now i need root canal and crown on front tooth and bottom front tooth. i need wisdom teeth taken out. i dont want to conribute so much that it affects my bills or other emergency items(car breaks down). right now i have rent, car note, insurance, student loans, cell, cable, water, electric, etc. right now i have metlife insurance- they cover $1500 per calendar year. im thinking about contributing anywhere from $1000 to $2000. what do you think??
How much does Root Canal or Extraction cost if my dental insurance is Metlife? I'm attached to my dads Metlife dental insurance. He said our coverage was 80% so everytime he visits a dentists he only pays 20% of the cost. But he never did any Extraction or Root Canal he only went to the dentist for Cleaning. Though I'm not sure if this is entirely correct. I'm asking this because I think I have cavity/tooth decay but it doesn't really hurt that much, just abit of trouble sleeping, I've been keeping this from my dad for a few weeks now because I don't want to burden him. That's why I'm saving up money if I'll need an root canal or extraction. Can anyone please give me a hint on how it will cost?
How do get Delta Dental insurance? Does anyone out there have an "individualized" plan? If yes, how did you get it & was there a long waiting period? My dentist takes only that & Metlife. I really want him to do all my work because he is a quality dentist. According to thier website, you cant get an individual plan??????
dentist wants me to use full $5000 with my flexible spending benefits? and thats $5,000 plus my metlife insurance already. I need a lot of dental work. i dont know if i should call another dentist or not to find something cheaper. i need 2 root canals, wisdom teeth taken out, crowns. and eventually braces. But i also have other priorities. i have rent, car note, insurance, student loans, water, gas and electric, food. how can i fix this??
Individual PPO Dental Insurance with No Waiting Period? Does anyone know any individual dental insurance with a PPO plan and has NO waiting period? I live in the state of California. I've already tried Blue Shield and they have a 6-12 month waiting period for the PPO plan. And I've already try tons of other dental insurance (Metlife, Safeguard, etc) and they all have HMO plans or doesn't provide individual dental insurnace. Btw, I want dental insurance, NOT dental plans (discounted plans). I already know where I want to go to get the dental work done. That's why I want a PPO dental insurance, and NOT HMO or dental plans (discounted plans).
