Florida Health Insurance Dropping Coverage? My parents are retired in Florida. Their health insurance carrier is pulling out of Florida and non-renewing coverage. My father has cancer and is not yet eligable for Meidcare. Is the carrier obligated to find them new coverage. Is coverage with a new carrier going to exclude pre-existing conditions like cancer? Is there anywhere my parents can turn for help?

BCBS of Florida, Health Insurance at work, Expert Needed !? 2 times now, BCBS of Florida has conspired with my employer to cut my benefits. I have an on-going cancer claim. Sooner or later, if they keep "cutting benefits" I'll be with no benefits. My claim is still active, since 2007. They have done this twice with no notification to me. This costs me more out of my pocket on the co insurance and deductibles. I do not think by law, they can cut my benefits this way. Help !

Individual health insurance in Florida for someone with pre-existing conditions?? My husband has high cholesterol (he is only 32) but it is hereditary. He eats right and exercises but is not currently on meds to lower his cholesterol. Neither of our employers offer health insurance. He was recently denied coverage due to no current treatment for the high cholesterol. Does anyone know of a company that would cover him with a pre-existing condition and with already being denied by one company? We live in Florida. He will be starting cholesterol lowering meds soon. We really don't want a discount plan. I am not so concerned with drug coverage for him because we get the cheap Wal-Mart prescriptions, just major medical coverage. Any suggestions are welcome!
I need info on Florida individual health insurance, maternity in particular.? My wife and I are planning our second child right now. Our first was born via C-section and it is likely that the second one will be too. I am currently paying $900 a month for family insurance through my work. This is just ridiculous and is breaking my bank. I have called around and gotten quotes from others but they all tend to say that there will be a long waiting period for maternity coverage. We are not waiting and were wondering if anyone knows anything that could help us get something more affordable. We are both in our mid 30's with a 1 year old male child. No tobacco use and healthy. thanks

Health insurance companies in Florida that only ask for 5 years of information? I was wondering if there are any health insurance companies that only ask for medical information in the past 5 years. Any help would be appreciated.

Florida Health Insurance Question? A friend of mine has Blue Cross Blue Shield through his employer in Florida. His premium is a whopping $600.00 a month. He wanted to lower his premium and his employer says he can't change his insurance plan. He wanted to cancel his insurance and his boss says he can't, unless he fires him. I told him it sounded as though his boss is ripping him off. He contacted Blue Cross Blue Shield and they told him his boss has the right to charge ANY amount he wishes. They would give him no information about his premiums and referred him back to his employer. My friend doesn't even remember if he ever got his paper policy. All the links to write the insurance commissioner has not worked. Can anyone tell me out there if it isn't true that it is anyone's civil right to cancel an insurance policy and what my friend might do next?

Florida Health Insurance Coverage? I live in PA (orig. from Jersey) and I will be moving to Florida in June. I am covered under my parents plan until I turn 23 and lose coverage end of December. My Aunt told me that in NJ companies cannot deny you of a plan if you apply for one. Is this true for FL as well? I also have what they will call "pre-existing conditions" anxiety, back problems, an auto-immune disorder among other things. I am very frightened to be without affordable coverage. I know in PA if you have insurance through an employer they cannot deny you of anything "pre-existing" ...is this true in Florida as well? Please so not try to sell me anything...Thanks!
Florida health insurance premium contribution % required by employer? Does anyone know what the minimum percentage premium contribution is that an employer must make on a group plan in Florida? This link says its 50% in Florida. So where are you people getting zero? http://www.wavrock.com/individual-family-health-insurance.asp To FLOWER: You need to practice comprehensive reading then. Under Point #1 in that link, it clearly says 50% in Florida. If an employer offers you a group plan in Florida, by law they must contribute 50% of your premium. This only applies to the employee, not his or her family.

Guaranteed Health Insurance for Small Business - Florida? I just became self employed this year. I saw Florida has open enrollment for the month of August (which is almost over) for small businesses. Would I qualify for this program? All of my tax documents from last year show I was not self employed. Also - when we last applied for insurance my husband was denied because of his weight. He has since lost a lot of weight. I'm not sure how this would impact anything but wanted to mention it.

Florida law and COBRA health insurance? Does anyone know if an employer is legally obligated to offer an employee COBRA health insurance upon leaving that place of employment. I was dismissed by my employer due to a conflict in my schedule because I am also a full-time student. They were unable to continue to coordinate my position schedule into a part-time position so I could remain on staff. I had health insurance and also several supplemental policies with Aflac. I asked my employer what will happen with the insurance and they never offered me COBRA and told me that the insurance company & Alfac would contact me. My last day of employment was 01/31/2008. I still have not been contacted by the insurance company. Does the employer hold any legal obligations to offer this to me? Please let me know as soon as possible. Thanks to anyone who can help.
How do you find affordable health insurance? I have a friend of mine who lives in Florida. He had open heart surgery a few years ago. After the surgery was done, the Dr walked in the room and told my friend he really never needed the surgery to begin with. He is trying to find health insurance and he is having trouble finding it because of his heart condition even though now he doesn't have one. Most of the health insurance companies want more then $1500 a month to insure him. How does he find affordable insurance in the US?

It is quite overwhelming to look for health insurance on the internet as there are literally thousand of websites selling and claiming they offer affordable or best priced health insurance. Maybe someone else purchased health insurance from them and can tell me which one I should go with. http://www.healthinsurancesearch.com http://www.oxoniainsurance.com http://www.vitalonehealth.com Please if someone got health insurance in Florida help me decide who should I go with!
