How much does a full body scan cost and is it covered by insurance if taken electively for prevention? Let's say I want to find any problems in my body and want to take a scan of my entire body - would insurance cover it and if not how much would it cost and would I ask my primary physician to take it?
Has anyone out there had the radioactive pill and body scan to destroy thyroid? I have been diagnosed with graves disease related to my thyroid. My endocrynologist wants me to take a radioactive pill and body scan to destroy my thyroid next week. He will then have me on thyroid medicine the rest of my life with periodic blood tests. The total body scan. Has anyone had it done and gotten perfect results that nothing is wrong? Many people are going for the body scan just out of curiosity. I find this unbelievable. If you travel, will you submit to a full body scan? So, this question has been bothering me lately, mainly because I got back from Paris not long ago and traveled through Chicago O'Hare, and got to see the controversy up close and personal. Do you know answer to body scan manchines is not to not fly? The airport is only the initial roll out for them. Some court houses have them already, and if accepted at airports they wil lbe at every government building, then all pubic venues like political rallies or baseball games. Imagine that, not medically trained personel irradiating you with a machine not FDA approved sending naked pictures of you to another not medically trained person to view or subjecting you to and your children to an invasive groping by not mendically trained people and you have to tell your kids its ok for them to touch them like that. What do you think about the new TSA body scan? So this all started last year, but TSA is really starting to use these scanners now. Basically, they pick people out of the airport security line "at random" and let them choose between going through the body scan (which takes like a minute) or submit to a pat down. You are not taken to a private room for this, it's done right by the metal detectors. TSA agents view the images and TSA claims all images are immediately deleted after they are viewed. I feel that there's a lot of leeway here for misuse. Who is to say the TSA agent calling people out of line isn't a pervert/pedophile/whatever choosing people who he/she finds attactive or especially ugly or fat? And are there multiple TSA agents sitting there with popcorn chuckling at these people's naked bodies? Personally, I think that if there wasn't such outrage in the beginning, TSA would consider making this body scan mandatory for all travellers. After all, it's been designed to take less than a minute. So the questions: Do you think it's an invasion of privacy? Which would you choose, the body scan or the pat down? If the body scan were made mandatory at some airports, would you go out of your way to avoid those airports? Say there's another airport an hour away, would you drive to that one instead? 48hrs after a CT scan with contrast medium I have developed a body rash. How long can I expect this to last.? The CT scan was looking for lymphomas as a couple of skin lesions removed from my arm recently may be cutaneous lymphomas or nothing more than pseudolymphomas. Can you get an elective PET (positron emission tomography )scan any where in Australia, preferably Melbourne? My mum has had cancer in the past and would like to get a full body PET scan for peace of mind but has been refused one when requested via a doctor because she is not high risk! why are we allowing airlines to do full body scans? We need to stop this invasion of our privacy. Its all a bunch of bs. No plane will ever be taken over by terrorists. Since 9/11 everytime i have flow i have felt very safe because i know that most people on that plane wouldnt let a bunch of guys take it over. People wake up why is this happening in our country and what can we do to stop it? I say stop flying for a few months and let these airlines know that this is bull.
