How often do i need to undergo full body scan? as u know early detection of cancer can save your life. the best way to detect this is via MRI or PET-CT scans which are not 100% neutral to health how often do i need to do them to make sure i do not detect cancer at the stage where it's too late?
Is a full body scan too high a price to pay for a safe flight? Although I understand the reasoning behind this move, for me it maybe. And is this 'giving in' to the terrorists - in terms of invasion of privacy? .... This has to go in this category, because the full list won't come up.... Apologies - should be ... for me it maybe IS. NO JR I am asking a perfectly valid question..... there is no need for rudeness.

Does it all come out in a bowel movement? Is some of it absorbed by the body? How long does it take to leave the body? If I don't have a bowel movement soon, should I take a laxative?
Do I have the right to refuse a full-body scan at the airport? I have avoided radiation in every form because 7 people in my family have died terrible deaths over the years due to cancers. Our doctor recommended to all of us to live prudently in diet, avoidance of X-rays and excess sunshine. Are the new airport scanners a threat to those in my position? (Cancer-prone family history)

What does a neurologist want with a CT-scan of your body? Hi there, I wondered...the neurologists assistant called me the other day that the results of the blood tests were in. The neurologist saw something and she wanted me to make a ct-scan (thorax). I have to wait 2 months till I get the results of all the tests, what can the doctor have seen? She tested mostly on muscle diseases, so what muscle disease (or other conditions) can show something on a CT-scan? Two months of waiting is a lot... Greetings, Ann
How can I test if the metal left in my body from a surgery is safe for an MRI scan? I had surgery on my jaw in Korea about 2 years ago, and the doctor told me he used only titanium screws and plates. I had an MRI today, and my face started to feel really tight, and we had to cancel the scan for fears that the implants are indeed NOT titanium. Is there a test I can do to see if the metal is reactive to MRI tests?
What do you think about the new TSA body scan? So this all started last year, but TSA is really starting to use these scanners now. Basically, they pick people out of the airport security line "at random" and let them choose between going through the body scan (which takes like a minute) or submit to a pat down. You are not taken to a private room for this, it's done right by the metal detectors. TSA agents view the images and TSA claims all images are immediately deleted after they are viewed. I feel that there's a lot of leeway here for misuse. Who is to say the TSA agent calling people out of line isn't a pervert/pedophile/whatever choosing people who he/she finds attactive or especially ugly or fat? And are there multiple TSA agents sitting there with popcorn chuckling at these people's naked bodies? Personally, I think that if there wasn't such outrage in the beginning, TSA would consider making this body scan mandatory for all travellers. After all, it's been designed to take less than a minute. So the questions: Do you think it's an invasion of privacy? Which would you choose, the body scan or the pat down? If the body scan were made mandatory at some airports, would you go out of your way to avoid those airports? Say there's another airport an hour away, would you drive to that one instead? Any other comments? You can see the body scan images here: http://www.tsa.gov/blog/2008/05/you-asked-for-ityou-got-it-millimeter.html
How accurate our full body scans? My mother in law was diagnosed with breast cancer she got a full body scan in June 2006, now she is having a bad side effect from chemo and they want her to get another one. My concern is how likely is it that cancer would have spread while she has been on chemo?

Is there a cancer scan that screens your body or blood to find any trace of cancer if you think you have it? My sister was found to have abnormal cells by her gyno. They took some of the cells multiple times and they have not found cancer, and STD or HPV but the cells keep growing. Also she is now discovering cysts in that area that she's never had before. She was wondering if there was a whole body cat scan or blood test that can tell a person if they have cancer at all, in any area or not, because she's worried she does but for some reason doctors aren't finding it. I also wanted to add that she did get the cells removed but they came back around the same area

How good are whole body scans? I have seen adverts on TV for a company called lifescan. How good are these scans, can they detect cancer, too much fat, problems with bones?
why are we allowing airlines to do full body scans? We need to stop this invasion of our privacy. Its all a bunch of bs. No plane will ever be taken over by terrorists. Since 9/11 everytime i have flow i have felt very safe because i know that most people on that plane wouldnt let a bunch of guys take it over. People wake up why is this happening in our country and what can we do to stop it? I say stop flying for a few months and let these airlines know that this is bull.
