After checking with my insurance carrier (Blue Cross/Blue Shield) I find that I will be covered overseas, but have to pay all the medical fees upfront, THEN wait for reimbursement (same with my AFLAC policy). After looking through all the confusing plans on insuremytrip.com, I'm not sure whether to get medical insurance, travel insurance or both and just how much coverage. I'm in decent health, although I have hypertension and diabetes (Type 2) that are managed quite well through a physician's care and don't cause me any problems. BOTTOM LINE: Has anyone from the U.S. traveling overseas had to use one of these plans for medical/travel and did the carrier of the plan come through when needed in a time of crisis? He had a heart attack about 10 years ago and takes a combination of tablets everyday I looked at the travelex website that people have recommended as it waivers existing conditions, however it states "Purchase plan within 21 days of initial trip deposit" I'm interpreting the initail trip deposit is when I paid the airline? Mostly we are just looking for something that will protect our trip/costs in the event that something is cancelled or delayed or something (not necessarily travel medical insurance). I've been looking at the various travel insurance sites and comparing plans/prices, but I have no idea what I'm looking for. I know if a price is too much or not, but as far as coverage I want/need/etc. I'm clueless. Help!!!
Do you know any medical insurance option for foreigners traveling in the US which covers birth delivery here? For a foreigner who will be traveling to the US and it is very likely that she will give birth here, is there any medical insurance to cover part of the birth expenses?
I need SPECIFIC travel insurance advice.? I'm going to mexico for 6 months and would like to purchase travel medical insurance - nothing fancy, just a "bare-minimum" plan that would cover any kind of medical emergency... Can anyone (from personal experience) recommend a good company to go with? I've heard that some companies are a nightmare to deal with while others are not so bad. The two cheapest policies I've found so far are from "Seven Corners" and "IMG" but I'm not sure about these companies... How much would the different pregnancy tests (up to week 20th) will cost in CA SFO (have no medical insurance) I will be staying in Berkely CA for the next 3 months. I am in the very early stages of pregnancy and will of course need maternity care routine chack out for te duration of my stay. Can anybody give me guideline regarding medical insurance policies for people travelling to united states? There are many traveler's insurance but they do not seem to cover if the traveler has some past medical condition such as diabetes etc. Particularly, if something happens because of the pre-existing condition, most of these insurance policies do not cover anything.
